Summer is coming to an end, which means that the beautiful autumn is arriving in our country. So now also a new hiking season begins with beautifully colourful nature, pleasantly refreshing temperatures and wonderful plays of colour both in the air and on the ground. But proper tour planning is never more important than in autumn and is an absolute prerequisite for safe hiking. This is because the days become shorter and the conditions more varied or more difficult.
The best example of the rapidly changing conditions is last September: It was just summer - and from one day to the next the peaks of the Wilder Kaiser were white!
These completely changed conditions for hiking and mountaineering should be taken into account when planning tours. Because especially now in October, anything can happen, from warm temperatures, sunshine and breathtaking views to fog, rain, snow and freezing temperatures.
